2020 - 2021
In parallel with the archives project, as part of the TOURNER LA PAGE project, Joséphine Kaeppelin conducted a workshop in January 2020 with a class of adolescents from the Jean-Baptiste Lebas secondary school (Roubaix) and their French teacher Laure Abramovici. artconnexion accompanied the artist in devising and implementing the workshop with the students.
What do we want to do in life?
This is the question that the 3rd grade students answered by mixing writing and graphic design.
Led by the artist Joséphine Kaeppelin, this writing exercise played with luck and was intended to result in surprising ideas, flirting with the poetic or the absurd.
The workshop allowed the artist to confront the archives of a past era with the current questioning of teenagers reflecting on their professional future, and to discuss with the students the notion of work, a sector in full mutation. In the 3rd grade, the students have to do a work placement; the workshop echoed this experience and allowed everyone to question the notion of work in a different way.
The result of their work: an image of a certain vision of work when you are 15 years old in 2020. The posters were presented in January 2021 in front of the National Archives of the World of Work in Roubaix.
