Talk wih Stéphane Lambert, Festival Livres d'en Haut

Saturday 4th October from 10h30 to 11h30

As part of the Festival Livres d'en Haut, artconnexion is hosting a talk with Stéphane Lambert to discuss his latest publication, Être moi, toujours plus fort. Les paysages intérieurs de Léon Spilliaert (Éditions Arléa).

Ostend, in the early 20th century. A melancholic young painter, Léon Spilliaert, gazes out to sea. He is haunted by the moving geometry of his hometown and by the secret life of appearances and shadows.

A century later, Stéphane Lambert proposes a unique journey in which his thoughts merge within the painter's troubled universe. Through his intuition and insight, he captures the essence of the hypnotic power of Spilliaert's work. Art is always a spellbinding mirror.

Stéphane Lambert won the Victor Rossel Prize for L'Apocalypse heureuse (2022). Published by Arléa, he is the author of Nicolas de Staël. Le Vertige et la foi (2014), Mark Rothko, rêver de ne pas être (2014) and Vincent Van Gogh. L'Éternel sous l'éphémère (2023), among others.
