Aurélie Damon

Print Night

4 May 2013

As part of the Mai de l'Estampe, initiated by Alain Buyse and the Ateliers d'Éditions Populaires, artconnexion presents its artists' editions and books as well as works by Aurélie Damon for a one day event. Imaginary cartographies, urban landscapes in mutation, teeming microcosms, Aurélie Damon's drawings play back and forth between the infinitely small and the macrocosm in which the spectator wanders freely. Her visual work questions the notions of landscapes and spaces, whether they are sparse or saturated. Singular or complex.

Using various techniques such as drawing, painting, collage, digital, her work is oriented towards landscape and cartography, whether imaginary or real. Her works are built from a database, a graphic palette, composed of signs, symbols and forms that she constantly enriches. The artist works by layers and transparency, tirelessly switching from drawing to the computer which enables her to divert, multiply, assemble and superimpose signs.
