Parc du Colvert

2025 - ongoing

The Métropole of Amiens and the City of Amiens have launched an ambitious urban renewal program in the Pigeonnier neighborhood in the north of Amiens. The design of a new Colvert Square Park has been entrusted to the BASE agency. As part of a Project Management Assistance (Assistance à Maîtrise d’Ouvrage, AMO) for the design and realization of an artwork incorporating a participatory approach with the residents of Colvert Square, artconnexion proposed the protocol of the Nouveaux commanditaires.

The commissioning group is made up of residents who have recently arrived in the neighborhood, who grew up there, who live there, or who work there. The history of the neighborhood is closely linked to several waves of immigration, which led to the construction of numerous buildings starting in 1959. This area is distinguished by the richness of its social and cultural associations, as well as by a strong network of solidarity.

The future park will cover 17,000 m² in the heart of the neighborhood, around which the largest open-air market in Picardy animates local life every Sunday. The aim of the commission is to share, with the widest possible audience, the history and future of the Pigeonnier neighborhood by offering a fuller representation of its inhabitants. The artwork should highlight the neighborhood’s intergenerational and multicultural aspects, foster connections, and contribute to renewing its image.
