Commissioned by the city of Lille, inaugurated on 16 December 2007.

In an invitation from the Ciy of Lille to respond to a public commission for the Place de Fives, artconnexion suggested the Scottish artist Kenny Hunter for his ability to “anchor” his work in the history and life of the places for which he creates his sculptures in the public space.

Originally from Glasgow, a city with an industrial past similar to that of Lille and its metropolis, the artist took great interest in the development of Lille’s different neighbourhoods. Kenny Hunter had already been invited to Lille by artconnexion to present a project in 2004 as part of the Entente Cordiale celebrations with the support of the Scottish Executive.
